Highly-rated young striker Talikong Elwood Bantar has completed a move to PWD of Bamenda, popularly known as the Abakwa Boys, after a breakout 2024–25 campaign with ISOHSA of Limbe.
The 18-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract with the Bamenda outfit, completing a remarkable leap from the MTN Elite Two to the MTN Elite One Championship.
Bantar joined ISOHSA in the build-up to the 2024–25 season and quickly became the club’s standout performer. He finished as top scorer with seven goals and four assists, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young attacking prospects in Cameroon.
“It’s a dream come true to join a club with PWD’s history,” Bantar told Kick442.com after signing. “I’m thankful to ISOHSA for believing in me, but this is a big opportunity to prove myself in the Elite One. I’m ready to work hard and help the team achieve its goals.”
Raised in Muea, in Cameroon’s Southwest Region, Bantar has already joined his new teammates in Bamenda as PWD intensifies preparations for the upcoming season.
Known for his pace, intelligent movement, and clinical finishing, Bantar’s playing style has drawn comparisons to some of PWD’s legendary forwards, including Pius Ndierfi, the former Cameroon international and Africa Cup of Nations winner.
A Bright Future Ahead
PWD of Bamenda — former MTN Elite One champions — continue to invest in young talent as they rebuild for another competitive campaign. Club insiders say Bantar’s arrival is part of a broader recruitment strategy focused on blending youth with experience.
ISOHSA, who were relegated to the Southwest Regional Championship, have seen several of their standout players depart following the club’s decision to discontinue participation in national competitions.
The MTN Elite One Championship is expected to kick off before the end of 2025, though the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has yet to confirm official fixtures and dates.
With his rise from Muea to the national spotlight, Talikong Elwood Bantar now carries the hopes of many who see him as one of Cameroon’s next great attacking prospects.
