Cameroon’s teenage midfielder David Mimbang has taken a major step in his football career after signing his first professional contract with Danish top-flight club FC Nordsjælland.
The 18-year-old midfielder, formerly of the École de Football des Brasseries du Cameroun (EFBC), has committed his future to the Danish club on a five-year contract, keeping him at Nordsjælland until 2031.
Mimbang’s move marks an important milestone for a player who has developed through Cameroon’s renowned youth football system. His technical qualities and potential have now earned him an opportunity to continue his progression in Europe.
However, the young Cameroonian will not immediately feature for Nordsjælland. As part of his development plan, Mimbang will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at San Diego FC in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
The loan will give the teenager an opportunity to experience senior football in one of North America’s fastest-growing leagues while continuing his development at the professional level.
The move also reflects Nordsjælland’s reputation for investing in young talent and developing players with long-term potential.
For Mimbang, the next chapter begins in the United States, with his sights set on establishing himself as one of Cameroon’s promising young midfielders.
From EFBC and Cameroon to Denmark and now MLS — David Mimbang’s professional journey has officially begun.
