Cameroon international Myriam MaĆ«va Nyadjou has completed a major move to the United States, signing for Kansas City Current in the National Womenās Soccer League (NWSL).
The 2026 WAFCON champion has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the American top-flight club, bringing an end to her spell with Amazon FAP, one of the leading clubs in Cameroonās womenās championship.
Nyadjouās move to Kansas City marks another important milestone in a career that has continued to rise, particularly following her involvement in Cameroonās historic 2026 Womenās Africa Cup of Nations triumph.
The midfielder/defender was part of the Indomitable Lionesses squad that conquered Africa in Morocco, adding continental silverware to her growing list of achievements and increasing her visibility on the international stage.
Her performances for both club and country have now earned her the opportunity to pursue her career in one of the worldās most competitive womenās football environments.
At Kansas City Current, Nyadjou will join a club competing in the NWSL, the highest level of womenās professional football in the United States. The three-year agreement underlines the clubās confidence in the Cameroonian and gives her the opportunity to establish herself in the American game.
The move also continues an impressive post-WAFCON transfer wave involving Cameroonās champions. Several members of the Lionessesā continental-winning squad have attracted interest from clubs abroad, with European and American destinations increasingly becoming the next step for Cameroonās leading female footballers.
For Nyadjou, the journey from Amazon FAP to Kansas City Current is a significant career leap.
The 2026 WAFCON champion now has a fresh challenge ahead of her: adapting to a new country, a new league and a different football environment while competing for one of the ambitious clubs in the NWSL.
