Solange Larkingam becomes first foreigner to bag Woman of Guinnessico

Authentic Ladies of Douala forward Solange Larkingam scooped the latest Woman of Guinnessico award this Saturday, April 1 following a brilliant performance in a 3-1 victory against Louves Minprof.

The Chadian forward scored and played a pivotal role as the girls of coach Fagnia Fagnia Fernandez outclassed their visitors from Yaounde in the advanced match day 13 fixture.

Larkingam, 21, scored the third goal for the hosts earlier in the second segment, after Marie Claire Kibinde and Tim Shalom Makoma had made it 2-0 by the break.

The striker’s all-round input across the duration of the game was deserving of the prize, as she became the 13th player to earn the coveted trophy which commands a cash prize of 50 000FCFA in addition to a number of Guinness-provided gadgets.

The woman of Guinnessico is usually decided by a panel that consist of journalists, coaches among other experts selected by the organizers.

So far, 13 girls have received the sum of 650 000 FCFA from Guinness Cameroon SA as the competition’s prime sponsor continues in their efforts to improve the motivation of young girls engaged in football.
