Nigeria staged a dramatic late comeback to snatch a 3-3 draw against Russia in a thrilling international friendly on Tuesday.

Kelechi Iheanacho gave the Super Eagles an early lead in the 10th minute, but Russia responded through Lechi Sadulaev before Matvey Kislyak turned the game around in first-half stoppage time.

Aleksey Miranchuk then extended Russia’s advantage to 3-1 in the 54th minute, leaving Nigeria facing a difficult fight to get back into the contest.

The Super Eagles refused to surrender, however, and Peter Edokpolor pulled one back in the 78th minute to make it 3-2 and set up a dramatic finish.

Nigeria continued to push forward and were rewarded deep into stoppage time when Akor Adams struck in the 94th minute to complete the comeback and make it 3-3.

The late equaliser capped a spirited performance from Nigeria, who showed impressive character after falling two goals behind. The Super Eagles leave Russia with a hard-earned draw and renewed confidence after a difficult international window.
