Soccer Queens set to reward exemplary NWFL players and officials

As part of efforts to appreciate outstanding players and officials at the just concluded Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season, Soccer Queens is set to reward outstanding players and officials when it organises the maiden edition of the award.

The Soccer Queens Award is the first Women’s football award in the country, as its aim to appreciate the efforts of the players and officials’ contribution to the game.

A women’s football advocate and enthusiast, Moses Bako, said the award is to celebrate outstanding individuals in the NWFL and Reward accomplishments.

He added that it will therefore increase the hard work, dedication, and commitment of players in the NWFL.

Bako is a fantastic personality with an incredible passion for women’s football and with an unquenchable drive for women’s football development.

The award is scheduled to take place in Benin City, Edo state later this year with big names in the Women’s League in attendance.

Delta Queens won the 2022/2023 NWFL Premiership title at the end of the season in Asaba, Delta state.

Lakeside Queens and Dannaz FC Ladies qualified for the NWFL Premiership at the end of the second tier 2023 NWFL Championship season.

Gallant Queens of Kaduna State and Fortress Ladies of Edo State both gained promotion from third tier Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Nationwide to second tier NWFL Championship.

Players and some of the officials of the above teams and other participating teams in the women’s league are expected to smile home with accolades at the end of the maiden Soccer Queens Cup.
