FIFA President Gianni Infantino has congratulated Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses after they secured qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Infantino praised the achievement in a message celebrating Cameroon’s return to the global stage, describing the qualification as a major source of pride for the team’s supporters.

“Congratulations to Cameroon on their qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup! This third appearance of the Indomitable Lions on the world stage is a huge source of pride for your supporters, and I am looking forward to seeing you compete in the competition next year in Brazil,” Infantino said.

Cameroon booked their place at the 2027 World Cup after reaching the semi-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Indomitable Lionesses produced a strong campaign at the continental tournament, including a memorable quarter-final victory over Nigeria that propelled them into the last four and secured their ticket to Brazil.

The achievement marks another significant milestone for Cameroon’s women’s national team, who will make their third appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Cameroon previously featured at the 2015 and 2019 editions of the tournament. Their return to the global stage in 2027 will give the Lionesses another opportunity to compete against the best women’s teams in the world.

Infantino’s congratulatory message underlines the significance of Cameroon’s achievement as the team now turns its attention to the WAFCON semi-finals and preparations for its return to the World Cup stage in Brazil.
