Emmanuel Mahop Dikongue of Canon of Yaounde has won the Man of the Match, MOTM, award after his outstanding performance against Gazelle FA of Garoua.

Emmanuel Mahop was on target for Canon of Yaounde as they defeated Gazelle FA of Garoua in their second match at the ongoing Playoffs in Douala.

He scored at the 44th minute of the first half with a sublime header after a beautiful cross from Henri Paul Tchikeu.

He was one of the standout players for Canon in the entire match giving the Gazelle FA defenders so much to worry about.

He came close to scoring again at the 65th minute of the match but his shat was saved by goalkeeper Mbahbi Marcelin of Gazelle.

After playing as a goalkeeper for most of his career, Emmanuel Mahop transformed into a striker while playing in Equatorial Guinea. The 28-year-old believes he uses his past experience as a goalkeeper to learn how to go about in front of goal.

Trained at the Samuel Eto’o Foundation, Mahop encountered the likes of Andre Onana and Fabrice Ondoa. He has played for DAC 2000, Union of Douala and Fovu of Baham where he was a revelation and his performance earned him the vice captain position.
