“Although the question of our territorial integrity is witnessing positive developments, Morocco remains committed to the necessity of reaching a solution that preserves the dignity of all parties, with no winner and no loser,” affirmed His Majesty King Mohammed VI in a Speech addressed, on Friday evening, to His faithful people.

In this regard, His Majesty emphasized that Morocco “does not brandish these changes as a trophy, nor does it seek to fuel antagonisms or deepen divisions.” The Sovereign sincerely called upon “our brothers in the Tindouf camps to seize this historic opportunity to reunite with their kin and take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Autonomy Initiative — to contribute to the management of local affairs, to the development of their homeland, and to the building of their future within a united Morocco.”

“As King, guarantor of citizens’ rights and freedoms, I solemnly affirm that all Moroccans are equal, and there is no difference between those who return from the Tindouf camps and their brothers residing in the rest of the national territory,” His Majesty underlined.

Furthermore, the Sovereign extended an invitation to His brother, His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for a sincere fraternal dialogue between Morocco and Algeria “so that, once our past differences are overcome, we may lay the foundations for new relations based on trust, brotherhood, and good neighborliness.”

“We reiterate our commitment to continue working for the revival of the Arab Maghreb Union, based on mutual respect, cooperation, and complementarity among its five member states,” His Majesty added.

The King also noted that the overall development of the southern provinces, as well as the security and stability that prevail there, have been made possible thanks to the sacrifices of all Moroccans.

“In this regard, We wish to express the pride and esteem We feel for all Our faithful subjects, particularly the inhabitants of our southern provinces, who have always demonstrated their attachment to the sacred symbols of the Nation, its national unity, and its territorial integrity,” His Majesty declared.

The Sovereign also paid tribute to “the tireless efforts of official, partisan, and parliamentary diplomacy, as well as those of various national institutions, to definitively settle the question of our territorial integrity.”

The anniversary of the Glorious Green March, His Majesty stated, “is an occasion to recall with reverence the great sacrifices made over the past fifty years by the Royal Armed Forces and all security forces, as well as by their families across the national territory, to defend the unity of the country and safeguard its security and stability.”

“We remember with deep respect and honor the memory of the Architect of the Green March, Our revered Father, His Majesty King Hassan II — may God grant Him His holy mercy — as well as all the valiant martyrs of the Nation,” the Sovereign concluded.
