AS Dibamba Filles head coach Marie Gabriille Edzoa Betsi Manga has officially resigned from her position after three seasons at the helm of the Guinness Super League side.

In a resignation letter dated May 15, 2026, the coach confirmed her departure with immediate effect, pointing to repeated interference in the technical management of the team and incompatibility with the club’s leadership.

Repeated interventions and constant interference in the technical management of the team no longer allow me to carry out my duties in calm conditions and in accordance with my professional principles,” she wrote in the letter addressed to the club president.

The decision did not come as a complete surprise. Betsi Manga was notably absent during AS Dibamba Filles’ 2-1 defeat away to Louves Minproff on matchday 13 of the Guinness Super League. Several players including Babette Liapoe, Samantha Djifo and Nsoga Monica Makanda also missed the trip to Yaoundé without any official explanation, further fueling speculation of internal unrest within the squad.

Despite the difficult ending, Betsi Manga leaves behind an important legacy at the Japoma-based club. Since arriving in 2024, she successfully guided AS Dibamba Filles from the second division to the Guinness Super League, helping establish the side among the growing names in women’s football in Cameroon.

This season, however, has been a challenging one for the club. After 13 matches, AS Dibamba Filles sit ninth in the unofficial Guinness Super League standings with 13 points. The team has recorded three wins, four draws and six defeats, scoring 13 goals while conceding 21 for a goal difference of -8.

Their recent form has seen the club slide toward the lower half of the table, although they still maintain a cushion above the relegation zone. The campaign has also been marked by inconsistency, with the team struggling defensively despite showing flashes of competitiveness against some of the league’s stronger sides.

Reflecting on her spell at the club, Betsi Manga highlighted the achievements made during her tenure.

Since my arrival at the club, I have had the honour and privilege of contributing to an important chapter in its history, notably by guiding the team from the second division to the first division — an ambitious objective that we achieved thanks to rigorous collective work and everyone’s commitment,” she stated.

She also expressed gratitude to the players, staff and supporters for their trust and support throughout her tenure, while wishing the club success for the future.

Her resignation now leaves AS Dibamba Filles searching for stability at a delicate stage of the season as they aim to avoid being dragged deeper into the relegation battle.
