Cameroon international Olivier Mbaizo is set for a new chapter after bringing an end to his long association with Major League Soccer side Philadelphia Union.

The right-back spent eight seasons with the American club, establishing himself as one of the most experienced players in the squad and helping the Union enjoy one of the most successful periods in their history.

Since arriving from Union de Douala, Mbaizo made 156 appearances for Philadelphia Union and provided 13 assists. Although he did not score during his time with the club, his pace, defensive discipline and attacking support from the right flank made him a valuable member of the team.

The 28-year-old also celebrated silverware in the United States, winning the Supporters’ Shield twice with the Union as the club consistently challenged among the top teams in MLS.

Mbaizo has remained an important figure for Cameroon during his spell in North America, earning regular call-ups with the Indomitable Lions and representing the country in major international competitions.

With his time in Philadelphia now over, attention is turning to the next destination of his career. A move to Europe could offer the defender a fresh challenge, while remaining in the Americas would allow him to continue in a familiar environment where he has already enjoyed considerable success.

Having accumulated significant experience at both club and international level, Mbaizo is expected to attract interest as he weighs up the next step in his professional career.

His departure closes a memorable chapter for both player and club, ending a partnership that lasted nearly a decade.
