The Cameroon Football 7 Association (ACF7) has officially installed the pioneer executive for Zone 2, which covers the North West Region, marking another major step in the nationwide rollout of Seven-a-side football.
The appointments, confirmed through Decision No. 0002/ACF7/PDT/CAB/2025 dated October 23, 2025, reflect the association’s commitment to entrusting leadership roles to tested sports administrators and entrepreneurs capable of driving grassroots growth.
A football entrepreneur at the helm
Heading the new regional structure is Chi Mitterand, an influential figure in North West football circles. The businessman and sports promoter and former boss of Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda.
Mitterand’s reputation extends beyond football administration. With business ventures spanning Cameroon, Gabon, and Turkey, and a background as a player at Njalla Quan Sports Academy, he has long combined entrepreneurship with sporting passion. He previously represented Turkish club Konyaspor in Cameroon — a link that showcased his ability to connect local football with international networks.
Media and management blend in leadership team
Serving as Vice-President is Nji Nelson, a journalist and former Team Manager of Yong Sport Academy. Known for his work in youth tournaments and sports organisation, Nelson brings practical knowledge of team management and event logistics.
The Secretariat General will be led by Joshua Kosimbom, better known as Kosifoottalk, a journalist, player agent, and former footballer. His blend of media experience and player management expertise signals a modern, professional approach to administration. He will be assisted by Ngou Ernes Fofam as Deputy Secretary General.
Strong technical and financial setup
Diangha Maria Goretti, a former international referee and handball player, will head the Administrative and Financial Department. Her international sporting background is expected to reinforce transparency and structure.
The audit department will be led by Yong Bernard, a university lecturer and former footballer, supported by Barrister Ambe Kingsley.
On the technical front, veteran coach Martin Nkabyo takes charge as Competition Director. The experienced tactician has previously managed Yong Sport, PWD Bamenda, Victoria United, Tiko United, and the Cameroon U17 national team. His coaching credentials include leading PWD into the CAF Confederation Cup, underscoring his pedigree in high-level competition.
Barrister Ketum assumes the role of Censor, ensuring procedural compliance, while respected journalist Afeseh Apong will handle the communication portfolio for the zone.
Women in leadership and fair play
Among the standout appointments is Chi Valentine, a former referee named Regional Adviser. Voted Cameroon’s Best Female Assistant Referee in 2023, she brings a wealth of officiating experience and will provide regulatory guidance to the executive.
A dynamic team for a new football era
The North West executive team embodies a cross-section of experience from media, education, law, business, and football. Their collective expertise is seen as a major boost for the professionalisation of the Seven-a-side format in the region.
With a clear roadmap focusing on talent development, competition organisation, infrastructure growth, and youth empowerment, ACF7’s Zone 2 is expected to become one of the federation’s most active and innovative branches.
The installation of this leadership marks not just an administrative milestone, but the dawn of a new era for grassroots football in Cameroon’s North West.
