Banda, Kundananji and Chanda headline Zambia roster for Women’s World Cup

2022 Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) bronze medalist Zambia have released its final squad for this month’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Captain Barbra Banda and sister Esther Banda will be heading to the World Cup.

Madrid CFF forward, Rachael Kundananji will also beef the team’s attack for the World Cup debutant.

The Chanda sisters, Helen and Grace will also be on the flight to the Southern hemisphere country.

Other notable players in the team going to the World Cup with the Southern Africa side include Margaret Belemu,  Mary Mulenga, Evarine Katongo, Ireen Lungu, and Avell Chitundu.

Three players; Esther Siamfuko, Comfort Selemani, and Rhoda Chileshe were put on standby in case of injury to any of the players in the squad.

Zambia will face Spain, Costa Rica, and 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup champions Japan in the group stage.
