In a high-stakes encounter at the Mfandena Omnisports Stadium this Saturday, Cameroon’s U20 Women’s national team took a significant step toward Poland 2026, defeating Tanzania 3-1. While the collective effort was evident, one name stood out above the rest: Christiane Kiki Meva.
The FC Ebolowa forward was the architect of the Tanzanite Queens’ downfall, involved in every single goal that turned the tide for the Baby Lionesses.

Kiki Meva: Omnipresent, decisive, essential
The Meva Effect
The match didn’t start as planned for the hosts, with Tanzania taking a surprise lead in the 17th minute. However, under pressure, Cameroon found their savior in Meva. Her relentless movement and ability to draw fouls proved lethal:
- 37th Minute: Meva’s clever positioning forced a foul in a dangerous area. Maëva Nyadjou stepped up to bury the resulting free-kick, restoring parity and momentum.
- 45+4 Minute: Just before the break, Meva turned from provider to executioner. Perfectly found by Beverly Nimpa, she clinicaly slotted home to give Cameroon a 2-1 lead, a psychological blow from which the visitors never fully recovered.
- 49th Minute: Returning from the interval with the same hunger, Meva’s trickery inside the box left the Tanzanian defense with no choice but to concede a penalty. Nyadjou converted again to make it 3-1.

Kiki Meva: The constant menace
A Rare Statistical Feat
Beyond the scoreline, Christiane Kiki Meva is etching her name into the history books of Cameroonian football. In the span of just one year, she has become the only young Cameroonian striker to score in every female national team category:
- U17 Level: Scored during the Morocco 2025 World Cup qualifiers.
- Senior Level: Found the net during the friendly double-header against Nigeria in February.
- U20 Level: Her decisive strike today against Tanzania.
While she could have added more to her tally—missing a few chances to truly bury the tie—her overall contribution was undeniable. She was the focal point of the Cameroonian attack, providing the physical presence and technical intelligence needed to break down a stubborn Tanzanian side.
The Baby Lionesses now head to Zanzibar for the return leg on May 10th with a two-goal cushion. If Meva maintains this “Masterclass” form, the road to Poland looks very bright indeed.
Final Score: Cameroon 3-1 Tanzania (Nyadjou 37’, 49’ P; Meva 45+4’ | Tanzania 17’)
