Souleiman Hassan Waberi has stepped down from his role as the Djibouti FA president with immediate effect, bringing an end to 12-year mandate at the helm of the country’s football.

The experienced administrator made the announcement this Thursday, March 7 as his third mandate ends.

Going by article 43.6 of the Djiboutian football federation internal rules his vice president Mohamed Yassin Yonis will replace him on an interim basis.

Waberi brought numerous reforms to his country’s football and leaves a solid base for continuous growth and development.

Though he is quitting the national Federation, he will remain one of the vice presidents of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) led by Dr Patrice Motsepe these days.
