The beauty and euphoria that characterized the 2022/2023 football season in the North West Regional League had gone and officials of the federation in the region now headed by Jephter Pase are preparing for the upcoming season (2023/2024).
As preparations intensify ahead of the start of the season, referees, assistant referees, match commissioners and stadium directors says they are yet to receive payments for last football season.
According to an official of the North West regional ACAF bureau who requested anonymity, the referees and assistant referees have been complaining for the past seasons but things are not changing.
“We complained during the 2021/2022 season and all our monies were not paid. In the last season, we played the entire league without receiving a franc”, the official told kick442.com
“After the end of the league, we were paid our dues for the cup of Cameroon and matches for day one to three”, he added.
Quizzed to know about the when the balance will be paid, the North West ACAF official said the FECAFOOT regional bureau had promised that all is being done to ensure that they money is paid before the start of the upcoming season.
He however stated that they are being owed matches of day four to eight and the entire mini interpools.
Interim President Jephter Pase will have to do everything possible to ensure that the various match officials are paid before the start of the next season.
