Interpools 2023: Enah Ashu scores, assist as Bafmeng United begins in style

North West Regional Football League champions, Bafmeng United Football Academy has defeated the champions from the North region, Krimi FC by two goals to zero to record their first three points in the ongoing national interpools in Yaounde.

Enah Ashu Toda and Briand Atanga Achu scored both goals in the first half of the match.

Bafmeng United Football Academy, BUFA, the North West Regional Football League champions started the match the better side as they dominated the opening minutes of the match.

Ngong Livinus went round the goalkeeper in the 3rd minute of the match and thought he had the back in the back of the net, only to hit the side netting.

Five minutes later, Ahudu Lukong saw his header saved by goalkeeper Maupas Atokari.

Bafmeng United then continued imposing their playstyle, dominating possession in the midfield with Enah Ashu and Dauda Yakubu being their midfield masters.

Their domination paid off at the 22nd minute of the match when Bafmeng United was awarded a penalty after Bangura handled the ball with his hand in the 18yards area.

The experience Enah Ashu Toda stepped up and sent goalkeeper Maupas Atokari the wrong way to give Bafmeng United the lead.

At the 36th minutes of play, Atanga Briand, headed a well-timed cross from Enah Ashu Toda to give Bafmeng United a two goals lead.

Krimi FC’s first shot on target came at the 41st minute of the match. The header from Bangura Bainous was ruled out for offside as Bafmeng took a two goals lead at the end of the first half.

Upon resumption of the second half, Krimi FC looked the better side as they had several chances to reduce the deficit. However, goalkeeper Ngam Leonard and his defensive block remained steadfast.

Substitute for Krimi FC, Marc Lenhoul saw his freekick saved by goalkeeper Ngam Leonard.

Daniel Song Nwelar and Ahudu Lukong came close to increasing the scores for Bafmeng United.

The tactical wizard, coach Soh Simplis nicknamed “The Special One” is well on course to grabbing another Elite Two ticket for the North West region.

With the two goals victory, Bafmeng United now has three points after one match.

On the second day of play to be played on Tuesday July 18, Bafmeng United will clash with Olympique Football Club of Biwong Bane while Krimi FC will take on Ngaoundere FC.
