Off the back of a fiercely fought barren draw last Wednesday against the watersmeet side, Confluence Queens on home soil, Heartland Queens are set for a revenge showdown at last season’s albatross, Naija Ratels.

The dugout, a match day 5 of the ongoing 2023/2024 NWFL Premiership season is critical for the coach Obi Ogbala tutored side to make amend of two previous defeats in the hands of the Abuja based side and come up with an alluring sweet scents.

On current form, the Owerri mainstreams look well primed for once to get the desired sweet victory against two-time nemesis, Naija Ratels.

Recall the Owerri land ladies shared the spoils goalless with the wayfarers from Lokoja, Kogi state while the Abuja side split the loots against the Oil City side, Royal Queens on one goal apiece going into Wednesday’s matchup.

The game is billed for the military turf of Aguiyi Ironsi Stadium in FCT, Abuja on Wednesday, December 13.

With very little or no change expected in the performers against Confluence Queens, the Owerri side’s gaffer is believed to keep faith with his trusted allies to deliver the goods in the revenge-seeking clash.

High performer netminder, Uchenna Chukwu is sure bet to wear her gloves and will be shielded from sucker punches by hard-as-nails defenders, Kelechi Orgii, Onyedikachi Ekezie, Ekaette Akpata and Chinyere Iheoma.

The conjure woman, Mary Lucky, the WOTM winner in the match against the Confluence City side, and upscale in her lethal shooting, will as usual be trusted to lead the onslaughts with complements coming from the trio, Chimebere Opara, Chinwendu Orji, Chinedu Chinaka.

Midfield maestros, Oluchi Okwara, Marvellous Duru and former junior International, Oluchi Ofoegbu are sure to spread and supply the killer passes that will undo the hosts, Naija Ratels.

The Owerri side will strongly challenge for the top spot with a victory in Abuja as they a point adrift leaders, Nasarawa Amazons on the eight-team Group A log.

The Owerri land ladies next port of call will be a welcome party for the newcomers, Dannaz Ladies for NWFL Premiership match day 6 at hollowed ground, Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
