  • The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are in camp preparing for their match day three and four FIFA World Cup qualifiers games against Cape Verde Island in Yaoundé and Angola in Luanda
  • Cameroon have catch up on Angola and Libya who won their match day three outings in the past 24 hours

Former Cameroon international and African footballer of the year Joseph Antoine Bell was guess of honor for the Indomitable Lions as they held their recognizance training session on Thursday, June 7 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.

The former Olympique Marseille shot stopper who serves as the Director of the national infrastructure running state infrastructures these days in made a stop at the venue to host Cameroon versus Cape Verde Islands counting for match day three of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Bell had a conversation with Andre Onana and co – trying to ‘Pep talk’ them going into Saturday’s crucial meeting of the Group D top guns.

Cape Verde Islands enter the contest in third position in the group Libya defeated Mauritius Islands on Thursday to go top with seven points – three points ahead of Cameroon who have four points like Cape Verde.

Bubista’s Cape Verdean team are third in the group and behind Cameroon, but are level on points and high in confidence following their brilliant exploits at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) earlier this year. The Blue Sharks reach their second quarter-final of the continental showpiece in Cote d’Ivoire while Cameroon were eliminated in the eight final round to cap a disappointing outing at the finals.

Cameroon versus Cape Verde Islands will be another tight contest in the start of another new era as the goalless draw that marked the start of the Antonio Conceicao era.
