Newly-appointed head coach of the Cameroon Women’s national team, Jean Baptiste Bisseck, has summoned 30 local players to start preparations ahead of the 2024 Africa Women’s cup of nations qualifier against Kenya.

The list which will eventually be trimmed in the days ahead, has six ladies on reserve from the 30 players called up, with Guiness super league champion, Lekie filles and Eclair of Sa’a getting the majority of players called for this first preparatory story stage.

The Lekie trio of Tabe Brenda Ebika, 2023 Guinness Super league MVP,  top scorer Marie Giselle Ngah Manga and Raissa Nnanga are amongst the six attackers summoned alongside Eclair’s Eleane Bibout.

Biya Cathy and Marthe Ongmahan who already have the experience of representing Cameroon with the senior women’s team, lead the goalkeeping compartment comprising of FC Ebolowa and Awa FC’s keepers; Onomo Etaba And Ngole Chelsea.

Prolific defeder, Ngono Marie Victoire from Eclair could not have been a surprise inclusion on the list looking at how engaged she was in the league this 2022/23 football season. She, alongside seven others would be tested at the backline to know who stays to join the other professionals representing Cameroon.

Tim Shalom Makoma who was one of Authentic’s key players, is one amongst the six players on standby with Kameni Flora of Louves Minprof.

Some of these locals will after the camp, be retained and joined by professional lionesses who ply their trade abroad for the AWCON qualification encounter.

The Indomitable Lionesses will take on Kenya home and away in search of a ticket to the competition scheduled to take place in Morocco. The first meeting will take place on September 22.
