Interpools 2023: Super sub, Arouna Nsangou scores again as Volcan, ISOHSA share points

Isle of Hope Sports Academy of Limbe and Volcan FC of Noun have played a one all tie in their second Pool A match in the ongoing national interpools in Yaounde.

Nick Afafa Nlend and Arouna Njikam Nsangou scored for ISOHSA and Volcan respectively in the match played at the Annex A of the Olembe stadium in Yaounde.

The first real action of the came in from Volcan FC of Noun where the shot from Moustapha Lamaje Mohamed was saved by goalkeeper Kelvin Ashu Mbah of Isle of Hope Sports Academy.

Minutes later, the goal post came to the rescue of ISOHSA when Willy Diderot Nsokeng headed from a freekick.

Later, ISOHSA’s Nick Afafa Nlend had a one on one chance to test goalkeeper Samuel Nkono Kwedi but his shot went off target.

A brilliant inter-positional play between Albert Tiku Egbe and Nick Afafa Nlend saw the former sending his shot off target.

Kelvin Ashu Mbah was called again into action after the half hour mark by Willy Diderot Nsokeng.

El Kaduri Njimoluh almost forced goalkeeper Kelvin Ashu Mbah to the back of the net but the goalkeeper was swift to clear the ball off his line.

At the stroke of half time, Ivan Yatchet’s cross was perfect for Nick Afafa Nlend who sent the ball into the back of the net as ISHOSA took a one goal lead into the break.

Upon resumption of the second half, both sides tried to impose their own playstyle.

Goalkeeper Samuel Nkono of Volcan FC was called into action on two different occasions by Brice Tabi Ashu from a set piece.

At the 63rd minute of play, Fofan Fekir Mefire delivered a perfect cross and Arouna Njikam Nsangou headed pass goalkeeper Kelvin Ashu Mbah to level scores for Volcan FC of Noun. The goal was Arouna Njikam Nsangou’s second of the competition. He scored just like in the first match against Academie Nyom II where he come in as a second half substitute.

All attempts from both sides to grab the winner proved futile.

The one all draw takes Isle of Hope Sports Academy to 2 points after two matches while Volcan FC of Noun now has 4 points after two matches.

On the next day of play coming up on Wednesday July 19, 2023, Isle of Hope Sports Academy will play against Sporting Football Club of Maroua while Volcan FC will be on standby.
