  • Shalom has scored nine goals for Authentic Ladies FC this season, making her the top of the championship for her club

Authentic Ladies FC of Douala were 1-0 winners against City rivals Caiman Filles courtesy of a goal from the spot from emblematic captain Tim Shalom Nakoma Ngam.

Caiman Filles had themselves to blame for leaving the Bonamoussadi stadium empty headed as their efforts in the match day 21 fixture was deserving of at least a point from the derby, but they failed to take their chances, including missing a first-half penalty via Henrietta Monkam.

Authentic entered the contest with knowledge of the fact that Caiman had been on a positive spiral since the start of the second round of the championship and wouldn’t make it easy for them especially with their own anxiety to react from the shocking home defeat against Ita Mbong in match day 20.

The early chances of the contest in the presence of hundreds of Guinness Super League fans at the stadium fell to Caiman Filles, but Tatiana Emboutou’s team were up against a Ngole Chelsea eager to get another clean sheet.

Authentic came close to scoring via Kiki Meva who got the lone goal in last weekend’s 1-2 defeat, unfortunately she dragged her effort before the water break narrowly wide.

Monkam had the best chance of the first 45 minutes when the officiating team awarded a penalty to Caiman Filles, unfortunately she couldn’t find the back of the net guided by Ngole.

Shalom crowned the day for Authentic when she dispatched her own penalty at the other end to ensure Authentic bag all three points and return to winning ways.

Captain fantastic’s latest goal takes her tally for the captain to nine, her best returns since she made her debut in the championship five seasons ago.
