Eto’o and Njitap reunite after AFCON 2023 spat

Former Indomitable Lions duo Samuel Eto’o Fils and Geremi Sorel Njitap Fotso stunt social media this Saturday evening after photos of the legends together surfaced weeks after their standoff from events of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Eto’o and Njitap were part of a host of top guests hosted in Paris this Saturday as part of the maiden edition of a developmental project aimed at fostering the growth of Africa.

Both men appeared on the same camera lens for the first time in months when they were invited to the stage to film with their customized jerseys for the event.

For starters, Eto’o and Njitap had engaged in an open war after the latter was denied access to the Indomitable Lions dressing room after their 3-2 win against The Gambia during their third group game of that AFCON tournament.

Geremi reacted to the situation in his capacity as president of the Cameroon professional football syndicate (SYNAFOC). He issued a Communiqué weeks after the end of the AFCON to decry the situation.

A few days later, Eto’o’s FECAFOOT fired back, by summoning the SYNAFOC Secretary in a letter they accused him of bringing the institution to disrepute.

Since then there has been a dangerous calm from both camps until this faithful Saturday night in Paris.

Peace between presidents Geremi of SYNAFOC and FECAFOOT’s Eto’o, even if it is achieved on a foreign soil will only be of greater service to Cameroon and African football at a time when both men are expected to be an example to many generations to come.

Fans who had engaged in crossfire in the past months as part of the business of showing love for either legend must mellow down and encourage them to get together as one.
