Marseille’s Mughe Francois Regis climbed off the bench to score a first goal for Marseille in the 2-2 draw against Annecy in the French Cup quarter-final on Wednesday evening.

Though the underdogs eventually edged Marseille 6-7 on post-match penalties, it was an unforgettable night for Mughe who came on in the 90+2 minute and equalized four minutes later.

The club’s diehards were dissappointed by the result, they certainly take pride in the fact that they watched their next big thing from Cameroon show glimpses of what he possesses.

Jordan Veretout put Marseille ahead just under a minute before the half hour mark.

Marseille was ahead till the break. But failed to lived up to expectation in the second segment.

Moïse Sahi equalized for Annecy eight minutes after the restart before Kévin Mouanga made it 2-1 in a quick turnaround of events.

Though both sides had chances to score again, a combination of proper goalkeeping and poor finishing kept the score unchanged.

Former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez missed a late penalty awarded to Marseille after VAR check.

Deep into added time, coach Igor Tudor turned to his bench and brought in Mughe for goal scorer Veretout. Just four minutes later the 18-year-old EFBC product equalized.

The game finished 2-2 but Annecy won it 7-6 after eight rounds of post-match penalties.

Mughe will keep and forever cherish memories of the night he scored his first goal for Marseille.
