Coach Gattusso compares himself to Sofyan Amrabat

44-year-old former AC Milan midfielder and head coach of Valenciagave,has expressed his admiration for the Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat’s playing style as reveal in the just ended 22nd edition of the Qatari men’s World Cup.

The brave heart as affectionately called in Italy, had the following words;

“It’s been a long time, since l have seen a player like me, but l saw him at the World Cup. Amrabat moved me a lot with his technical reading of the game. And looked like me when l was 27-years-ago,” Gattusso said

Sofyan Amrabat has been labelled as the stand-out player of the World Cup. After Morocco’s brave semi-final defeat, with French president Emmanuel Macron among his new admirers.

The Fiorentina midfielder, has been considered as a role model to young kids, due to his tireless work-rate and dedication on the pitch.

The tenacious 26-year-old, who has picked up nine yellow cards in Serie A this season, was the driving force of the Atlas Lions in their historic World Cup run.

But their fairytale came to an end, with Morocco earning plenty of applauds. After becoming the first African nation to reach the last four.

The former Utrecht and Club Brugge Midfielder, who could also be used as a defender, has become the point of interest for many clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
