There’s breakthrough in the stand off between Elite clubs in Cameroon and the country’s football federation (FECAFOOT) over unpaid sponsorship dues and more.
kick442.com understands the Elite clubs that had been revendicating the non-transfer of their entitlements in the sponsorship deal between the Cameroon top-flight and second tier championships have begun receiving their dues.
Though there hasn’t been any official communication about the situation, kick442.com has learned FECAFOOT has paid the some of nine millions FCFA as dues to a number of Elite clubs as part of efforts to bring and end to enhance a smooth atmosphere between all parties.
A party who pleaded anonymous briefed our team that payments started on Thursday, March 2 and will continue into next week as the country’s highest football body share the fallouts of the naming deal signed with Telecommunications giant MTN less than a year ago.
Elite club presidents met in Yaoundé this Friday to discuss the above situation and other subventions related issues but so far, there has been no official communication about their resolutions from that meeting.
The MTN Elite One and Two championship matches have been scheduled on grounds across the country this weekend.
