Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda has defeated Avion Academy by 0#1 in a match counting for the 12th day of play in the MTN Elite One championship.
Second half substitute, Cheson Liobinho scored the lone goal of the match just few minutes into the second half thanks to an assist from Mujibu Rahaman Mohammed.
Immediately after match, players and staff of the team said the victory is dedicated to their President, Chi Chinda Chido Mitterrand Francois whose health hasn’t been the best for a week now.
“This victory means a lot to us and on behalf of my teammates, I specially dedicate my goal and the victory of today to our President who has been sick for sometime now”, Cheson Liobinho told kick442.com .
Kick442.com gathered from club officials that the club President, Chi Chinda Chido Mitterrand Francois has not been in good health for a week now. However, he is recovering.
Earlier in the match, Kamaka Fils Fabrice, Nguimbat Junior and Mujibu Rahaman Mohammed came close to giving Yong Sports Academy the lead but they all failed to find the back of the net.
Few minutes to the end of the match, Alain Roland Nandjou almost leveled scores for Avion. Unfortunately, his header hit the crossbar.
The victory against Avion is YOSA’s fourth of the season in 10 matches played. They have also recorded two draws.
YOSA now has 14 points in Pool B while Avion has 12 points.
