Victoria United of Limbe has picked up their third away win of the current MTN Elite One championship after their brilliant 1#2 win against Stade Renard of Melong in Mbouda on matchday 12 of the championship.
Richmond Nji scored his ninth (9th) goal of the season as Victoria United inflicted the third consecutive defeat on Coach David Pagou and his Stade Renard team.
Richmond Nji opened scores for the visitors at the 22nd minute of play from the penalty spot after referee Elounga Bikim had pointed to the spot.
The striker stepped up to comfortably slot the ball pass goalkeeper Haschou Kerrido, his 9th goal of the season.
Twelve minutes later, Johnson Moki doubled scores for the boys from the seaside resort town of Limbe.
The second goal gave Opopo all confidence going forward. However, it was compromised just before half time when Ako Alexis scored for Stade Renard to reduce the deficit.
In the second half of the match, Victoria United was able to preserve their lead and despite all attempts from Stade Renard to draw level were futile.
The defeat is Stade Third consecutive defeat in the championship. In the last three matches, they have lost to UMS of Loum, Fauve Azur and now Victoria United.
