Elena Obono and Nuria Baita Massa scored a hat-trick and a brace respectively as hosts Huracanes FC of Equatorial Guinea outclassed Epah Ngamba by 5-1 this Thursday at the Estadio de Malabo to earn qualification for the CAF Champions League finals in Côte D’Ivoire.

Elena demonstrated her class again as she scored a hat-trick within an hour to seal the faith of coach Oyana Severino’s team as champions of the Union of Football Federation of Central Africa (UNIFFAC).

The 23-year-old Equatorial Guinea international entered the contest eyeing the Golden boot, having scored twice in the 3-2 win against holder TP Mazembe last Friday.

Elena’s header put Huracanes FC ahead after 17 minutes and doubled the advantage to help the aspiring champions take a 2-0 cushion to the break.

Again Epah Ngamba looked second best as coach Mavougou Jean Eric’s team lack of depth exposed them on countless occasions.

Nuria scored the third just after the interval, before Elena completed her hat-trick in the 63rd minute.

Nuria made it a brace five minutes later as they cruise to the trophy podium.

Michelle Ondze pulled one back for the Epah from a dead-ball with 15 minutes to go.

There was addition of more bodies in defense upon replacement of Elena in the 83rd minute. Her departure was greeted by a standing ovation from the hundreds in attendance.

Huracanes defended resolutely to keep it at 5-1 till the final whistle which meant they are champions of the region with six points from two games.

Last year’s winners, Mazembe finish second with three points while Epah complete the rankings without a point.

Huracanes will represent UNIFFAC in the finals in Cote D’Ivoire in November.

Elena’s five goals earns the golden boot of the competition in her second time of asking as she represented Malabo Kings two years ago.
