Cameroon fans want to see Nsame in action

Cameroonian fans were disappointed after their first Group G game last Thursday when they lost 1-0 against the Switzerland in the ongoing World Cup.

As well as extending Cameroon’s winless run in the competition to eight games, the result though didn’t reflect the performance prompted Cameroonians to asking questions about the absence of Jean Pierre Nsame.

Coach Rigobert Song’s team created lots of good chances but it counted for nothing as the Indomitable Lions narrowly on a number of occasions.

The side rather dropped tempo with the introduction of Georges Kevin N’Koudou in the second half, but despite players such as Toko Ekambi, Bryan Mbeumo,Zambo Anguissa and Eric Maxim Choupo Moting being well below the level of the rest, Song failed to introduce Young Boys’ lethal forward Jean Pierre Nsame.

And a great deal of Cameroon’s problems laid with their lack of efficiency in front of goal.

Now Nsame who warmed up for close to 40 minutes and has not played a competitive game for Cameroon since after his first cap in September 2017 is trending on social media platforms.

What the fans are saying?

“I will not watch the Indomitable Lions again until Nsame is starting,” Fon Sama wrote.

“What has Nsame done to deserve a permanent role on the bench?” Another questioned.

It’s clear many were frustrated that Song overlooked Nsame, knowing that other big nations would start the striker.

Cameroon’s next outing is on Monday against fellow embattled Serbia who duration in Qatar also depends on the results of the showdown planned for the Al Janoub Stadium at 1PM local time.
