Morocco’s U-17 National team will participate in the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which gets underway this weekend in Algeria.

kick442.com has gathered that president Fouzi Lekjaa of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), FIFA president Gianni Infantino and CAF boss Dr Patrice Motsepe have completed a negotiation which will cause Morocco’s team to have a direct flight from Rabat to their base in the tournament in the city of Constantine.

The latest development brings an end to rumors that Morocco could miss the AFCON in Algeria as it happened with the African Nations Championship (CHAN) earlier this year.

Morocco’s team is expected to leave their preparations camp in Rabat within the next 48 hours.

The tournament is scheduled to run from April 29 to May 19 across four cities in Algeria.

Morocco is pooled in Group B alongside two-time winners the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, COSAFA duo South Africa and Zambia.

Morocco will open their group matches this Sunday, April 29 against COSAFA vice champions South Africa before facing Nigeria and Zambia in the other group games.

The best four national teams at the tournament will qualify for the 2023 U-17 FIFA World Cup later this year.
