The championship was launched Sunday June 11, 2023, by the President and Focal Point for the North West region Dighambong Anthony Mvo at the University of Bamenda school field.
The opening match was played between Bamenda Central Veteran and Bamendakwe Central Veteran.
Mbah Linus opened scores for Bamenda Central Veteran from the penalty spot in the first half while Bamendakwe Central Veteran missed the chance to equalize just before half time.
In the second half, Anye Serge doubled the scores for Bamenda Central Veteran.
The victory of Bamenda Central Veteran takes them to the top of the championship in the North West region with 3 points.
At the end of the match, Anye Serge of Bamenda Central Veteran was named the Man of the Match.
In the next day of play which comes up on Sunday June 18, 2023, Ayaba Veteran FC will take on Bamendakwe Central Veteran.
