After reports surfaced with posts on social media showing that former Nigeria goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama joining the Super Eagles camp for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a new report has emerged.

According to reports coming from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the reports that Enyeama will be joining the national team as one of the goalkeeper coaches is not true.

The NFF spokesman, Demola Olajire confirmed that Enyeama will not be in the camp of the three-time African champions.

It should be noted that the former Enyimba FC captain made the announcement on his media handle that he is ready to meet up with the Super Eagles in camp.

Enyeama was part of the Nigerian side that won the 2013 AFCON title, the last time the team won the AFCON.

The goalkeeping department of the Super Eagles has been under severe criticism recently.

First-choice goalie, Uzoho has been conceding goals including long-range goals.

It has made it hard for the team to keep clean sheets.
