Royal Air Maroc has launched a special travel initiative, announcing 12 charter flights to Houston to help supporters travel for Morocco’s upcoming clash against Canada. The move is aimed at ensuring a strong red-and-green presence in the stands as the Atlas Lions continue their impressive World Cup campaign.

Fans will be able to travel on fixed round-trip fares of 10,000 Moroccan dirhams, making it easier for thousands of supporters to follow the team abroad and turn Houston into a sea of Moroccan colors.

The initiative is the latest example of how football in Morocco has become a national movement — not just a team competing, but a country travelling together behind its players.

A nation riding a wave of football success

Morocco’s current World Cup run has only reinforced the growing belief that the Atlas Lions are no longer outsiders, but genuine contenders capable of going deep into major tournaments. Their performances have been backed by a passionate diaspora that consistently turns away fixtures into near-home atmospheres.

That spirit is not new. Last year, Morocco’s success at youth level further strengthened the football culture sweeping the country. At the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the young Atlas Lions went all the way to lift the trophy, a landmark achievement that signaled the depth of talent being produced across Moroccan football.

From youth glory to senior ambition

The connection between the senior team’s World Cup momentum and the U-20 triumph is now clear: Morocco’s football system is producing winners at every level. From disciplined defensive structure to fearless attacking play, the identity is consistent across generations.

Supporters believe this unity — between players, federation, and fans — is what makes initiatives like the Royal Air Maroc charter flights more than just logistics. It is part of a wider national football project.

As the Atlas Lions prepare for Canada in Houston, the message is simple: they will not be alone. The stands will once again reflect a nation that travels as one, driven by belief that this generation is capable of something historic.
