Manchester United’s Andre Onana Onana delivered on debut following his outstanding input to help Erik Ten Haag’s team beat a gritty Wolverhampton Wonderers by 1-0 on Monday night at Old Trafford.

The shot stopper had a great all-round performance, with a 100% save from close range en route to securing his first clean sheet and three points for the Red Devils.

Onana’s contribution on the night Wolves threw everything at their host added value and provided an inside of United’s credentials this term.

The 27-year-old who cost United fortunes this summer, walking through the doors of the Theater of Dreams from Inter Milan couldn’t dream of a better debut performance.

Raphael Varane’s late strike ensured all three points remained in Manchester but before and even after the goal Onana’s heroics completed the job.

In the end, Onana was named ‘Man of the Match’ after becoming the 11th Manchester United keeper to keep a clean sheet on his Premier League debut and the first Cameroonian goalkeeper to play in the championship.

Andre Onana’s game by numbers vs. Wolves:

49 touches
67% pass accuracy
6 shots faced
6 saves
5 saves from close range
4 long balls completed
3/4 duels won
1/1 sweep
0 goals conceded
