Cotonsport of Garoua have capped their performance for the first round CAF Champions League preliminaries with an impressive 1-0 win against fellow top-flight side Avion Academy of Douala on Monday at the Japoma Annex stadium.

Hassana Abbo scored the lone goal of the game from a well-taken penalty in the 89th minute to earn the deserved victory and make it three wins in a row.

Aziz Bessane and Hassana scored in the first and second games respectively as they defeated Victoria United twice in the first two preparations matches last week in Limbe to begin the series of wins with a clean sheet.

The Cameroon champions are expected to fly to Bamako this Wednesday ahead of their first-leg clash against AS Real Bamako scheduled on Saturday.

The game at the Stade du 26 Mars will revive the age-old rivalry between these two clubs that meet again for the first time since their 1-1 draw in the group stage of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup.

Striker Wassou Goue and his Cotonsport mates are hoping to reach the group stage of the CAF interclub competition for the fourth season on the spin.
