Cameroonian officials Willy Stephane Ngah and Vincent Ngimdoh Nkemazem have been selected for one of the standout fixtures of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers, with the duo set to play key roles when Ethiopia host Senegal on September 29.
Ngah will take charge of the encounter as the centre referee, while Nkemazem has been appointed Assistant Referee 1 for the clash at the Bahir Dar National Stadium. Their appointments put two Cameroonians at the heart of a meeting between two nations with deep AFCON traditions.
Ethiopia are former African champions, having won the continental title in 1962 on home soil. Senegal are the reigning African champions and have won the AFCON twice, lifting their first trophy in Cameroon in 2022 before successfully defending their continental crown in Morocco in 2026.
The Cameroonian officials will therefore be entrusted with maintaining control in a fixture carrying significant weight for both sides as they pursue qualification for the 2027 AFCON finals in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Ngah’s experience will be complemented by Nkemazem’s work on the touchline as part of the officiating team.
Central African Republic’s Bozoy Oriya Zaoubaye Wilfried will serve as Assistant Referee 2, with his compatriot Andre Onesime Kolissala-Mbangui appointed fourth official. South Sudan’s Sebit Librato Begi Rassa is the match commissioner, while DR Congo’s Albert Punga Musungai will serve as referee assessor.
The match is scheduled for September 29 at 16:00 local time in Ethiopia, with the Bahir Dar National Stadium providing the stage for what promises to be a major continental encounter. For Ngah and Nkemazem, it is another opportunity to showcase Cameroonian officiating on the international stage.
