Cotonsport of Garoua have been crowned MTN Elite One champions for the third season in succession.

Daman Bouba Abdouraman and Patient Wassou Goue scored in either half to help the record winners beat Canon Yaounde by 2-0 to crown a perfect one week title playoffs tournament in Douala.

The boys of Jean Baptiste Bisseck dominated their opponents of the day and added to wins against Bamboutos FC and Gazelle FA, ending a turbulent campaign in style.

It’s the fourth time in five seasons Cotonsport have won the League and represents the 18th title in the Club’s history.

It’s is just the second time in their illustrious history the club from the North Region wins the title for three seasons in a row. The previous run was between 2014 to 2016. All three recent successes have been in the playoffs format of the abridged championship.

Cotonsport who also won the Cup of Cameroon late last year will represent Cameroon in the CAF Champions League while Bamboutos FC who were runners-up in the cup will be in the preliminaries of the CAF Confederation Cup.
