Update: Youssoufa Moukoko’s Father reveals his real age
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Having been accused of age fraud recently, Cameroonian-born German forward, Youssouffa Moukoko’s adopted Father has finally cleared the air on the controversies regarding his son’s age.

Joseph Moukoko during an interview, confirmed that Youssoufa is 18-year-old and not 22 as he is being accused of tempering with his age.

“Youssouffa Moukoko was born on November 20, 2004 in Yaoundé and if you do a proper calculation, it’s been 18 years of existence.” Joseph said

“Let me remind you that his birth certificate was verified and confirmed as authentic by the German authorities during his adoption procedure as well as when he signed his first contract” the adopted father reiterated.

This confession comes from a man who has nortured the player almost all his life, coupled with his stay in Germany for almost 50years.

The Borussia Dortmund star, who holds Bundesliga records as the youngest debutant and scorer, has been making waves on social media, with claims he is 22 according to a birth certificate allegedly dated 2000 with the name Yousouffa Mohamadou, which was attributed to Moukoko and discovered last year in Germany.

However, the man believed to be in the best position to clear doubts has finally spoken, claiming his son is 18.

With his family in Germany, this could partially be one of the reasons the confirmed 18-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker chose to represent Germany over his country of origin.

He was part of Germany’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad and became the youngest player to represent Germany in this competition.

As it stands now, the German Bundesliga club has just extended the contract of Youssoufa Moukoko until 2026.
