The Cameroon under-17 volleyball girls team, have earned a bronze medal in the just ended under-17 Girls African Volleyball Championship held, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria.
While on her first participation, the U-17 Lionesses picked two defeats. Against Egypt by 2-3.
Facing the girls of Coach Sunday Akapson of Nigeria, at the semi-finals, the Cameroonian team succumb to a 3-1 defeat. Though bagging home a bronze medal, in the three team competition.
It is worthy of note, that the Cameroonian girls, failed to cling on a single win, but succeeded in portraying a remarkable, resilience and clawing play style.
The under-17 Girls African Volleyball Championship, serves as a springboard for the detection of young talents, capable of joining the other categories of the discipline for subsequent competitions.
