Thomas Partey exempted as Black Stars unveil 27-man roster for AFCON 2023

Four times African champions, Ghana has released their final 27-man roster for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in neighboring Cote d’Ivoire.

A notable absentee is Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey who is out due to injury.

Three goalkeepers, nine defenders, 12 midfielders, and three attackers made the squad.

Daniel Amartey, Mohammed Salisu, Majeed Ashimeru, Mohammed Kudus, Andre Ayew, and Osman Bukari are the notable players on the roster.

The Black Stars will take their pursuit of their fifth AFCON title to the nearby Ivory Coast.

In the group stage of the tournament, Chris Hughton’s side will face record winners, Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.

They have been drawn in Group B at the Store Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
