Multiple times Tanzania Premier League winners have began talks to sign Coton Sports of Garoua centre back Che Malone Fondoh.

Malone has spent last two seasons with the Cameroon giants and have been one of their kingpin at the defense.

Kick442.com understands that Simba SC has started talking with the players entourage and officials of Coton Sports of Garoua.

Born on May 23, 1999, the 24-year-old is highly-rated back at home and nicknamed the ‘new Rigobert Song’.

Last month, the Cameroon international inspired Coton’s running to their 18th domestic league title in the just ended elite One championship.

He made his full international debut for Cameroon in a friendly match against Jamaica in Yaounde before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and later featured in all of his country’s group stage games during the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in January this year.

Simba SC finished second in the Tanzania Premier League this season with 73 points, 5 points behind Young Africans.

Founded in 1962, Simba SC has won 22 league titles and 5 domestic cups. A cross section of Simba diehards see him as the right addition to push them ahead of bitter rivals Yanga SC, who won the league and cup double this season.

Simba is ranked among the top ten clubs in Africa, at number 10, by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) in their May 1, 2022 – April 30, 2023 rankings. Globally, the club was ranked at number 105 in the IFFHS World Ranking.
