Senegal’s Aliou Cisse named AFCON Group Stage best coach

The head coach of the Teranga Lions of Senegal, Aliou Cisse, has been named best coach of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations ongoing in Cote D’Ivoire.

Aliou Cisse guided the defending champions to win all their three group matches, picking nine points out of nine. Senegal recorded victories over The Gambia, Cameroon and Guinea.

In the three Group Stage matches, Senegal scored 8 goals and conceded one.

Born on March 24, 1976, the 47-year-old will be hoping to guide his team to retain the AFCON trophy.

Cissé has been the head coach of Senegal since 2015.
