Rwanda have once again missed the flight to Abidjan for the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals which Ivory Coast will host.

The Amavubi saw their qualification hopes ended prematurely, win one game to go after losing 2-0 to Mozambique on Sunday.

Fiacre Ntwari gave the Mambas the lead with five minutes remaining before the end of the first half then David Bauque doubled the advantage in the 94th minute.

Spanish coach Carlos Alos Ferrer had his contract extended a few months ago hoping to change Rwanda’s fortunes but it was not to be.

Now, Mozambique face Benin in a decider on which side will join leaders Senegal at the next AFCON finals.

The Mambas are second in Group L with seven points, two points ahead of Benin who held Seneral one-all in an earlier match.
