Reigning Cameroon champions Cotonsport of Garoua have initiated negotiations to secure the services of exciting Ghanaian defender Kwabena Frank Assinki, from Elite Falcons FC.

The 21-year-old has been scouted and contacted by the ambitious Garoua outfit, who are willing to break the banks to land the former Inter Allies and HB Koge sweeper.

If all works well, the player who also had a stint at Danish side KFUM’s Boldklub Roskilde will sign a permanent contract at Cotonsport.

Kwabena first surfaced during his debut season for Allies in the 2019/20 COVID-19 punctuated season. He played 26 games in all for Allies during a two-season spell before moving abroad.

kick442.com understands the player’s transfer and annual earnings can cost Cotonsport close to ten Millions FCFA for the first season and a reasonable ad-on in the second season.

Kwabena, who is currently a free agent was part of the Ghana U-20 side that beat Uganda to lift the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Mauritania.

It is our understanding that talks are ongoing to determine personal terms after which the player will join the Cotonites on a two-year contract.

The 1.91M tall defender is expected to partner Che Malone at the defence if he stays, but can be an immediate replacement in the event of Malone’s departure.
