  • Renaissance FC of Ngoumou is the second Elite Two championship franchise to sack their head coach
  • Kouetchou Theodore was dismissed this week owing to unsatisfactory results
  • The club is yet to name his replacement

MTN Elite Two championship franchise Renaissance FC of Ngoumou have dismissed head coach Kouetchou Thedore with immediate effect.

kick442.com has gathered that the decision was arrived at this week after a board meeting which deemed the club’s result for the first segment of the season insufficient.

Renaissance FC have struggled on their return to the second tier of Cameroon football after over ten years in the MTN Elite One championship.

Halfway through the season, Renaissance FC tail Pool A of the championship with just four points obtained from their opening seven games of the season, having lot five games.

The club is six points off the first club out of the relegation playoffs position and have an even tougher second segment of the season in waiting.

The move by the club’s management marks a new chapter as a new coach is expected to be appointed to try to steady the shaky Renaissance ship.

The new coach is expected to be appointed before the start of the second segment of the season on Tuesday, December 5.

Renaissance will open the second segment of the season with an away game against TKC but it will be played in hometown Yaounde which is also the home of the receiving club.

The 2023/24 abridged MTN Elite Two championship is expected to climax in March during the relegation and promotion playoffs. The top four clubs in each Pool will battle for the two ascension spots while the bottom clubs will give their all to avoid being among the trio condemned and sent to their respective Regional championships.
