PWD social Football Club of Bamenda has recorded their fifth defeat in seven league games, following their 0#1 defeat to Eding Sport of the Lekie in a match day eight game.

Nebamkia Peter Paul scored the lone goal of the game at the 21st minute of the game, heading pass goalkeeper Karim Bello.

The Abakwa Boys struggled to get the momentum in the first segment, largely dominated by Bonaventure Djonkep’s side.

Eding Sport

Defensive duo Burinyuy Derrick and Ngwang Brian Nyaba, who were starting a game together for the first time in 242 days, provided a solid cover at the back for PWD, who were however porous at the midfield and attacking compartments.

Despite a much improved second half, PWD could not overturn the tides, and now continue their poor start to the season.

PWD now sits 10th of 11 teams in pool A, with just six points recorded from Seven games.

Cotonsport snatch point from Aigle

In the second game played at the Bamendzi Stadium on Wednesday evening, defending champions cotonsport, came from behind to secure a point against Aigle Royal of the Menoua.

Patrick Bihina had put Aigle ahead just after half an hour mark, but Abdou Raman Damal’s header from a well measured Emmanuel Chamdjou’s cross, put the game level before the break.

Both teams failed to get a breakthrough in the second half, and settled on a one all draw.

Cotonsport is now fifth on the rankings with 12 points, while Aigle occupies the eighth spot, with eight points.
