Egyptian security services say they have found an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) runners-up medal from the operation to recover items that were stolen in a burglary incident last month at Mohamed Salah’s home in Cairo earlier this month.

Authorities were notified of the break-in by the player’s agent on Sunday and arrest were made less than 48 hours after the incident while Reuters announced the recoveries this Wednesday.

The AFCON silver medals from the 2017 and 2021 tournaments, boots, wrist watches, Television and sports shoes are some of the items recovered per police sources.

Egypt’s minister of interior affairs confirmed a former security guard at the home of the Liverpool star is one of two men that have been arrested in connection with the incident as they continue to track relevant information.

Salah is yet to comment on the situation. Rather, the skipper of the Pharoahs of Egypt is expected in Cairo next week.

Salah will lead the national team in a double-header against Malawi in AFCON qualifying games at home on March 24 and the away match four days later.
