Cameroon’s football federation has reach a sponsorship agreement with renown betting company, 1Xbet on a three-year contract.

The deal signed this Friday, June 30 in Yaoundé, sees Cameroon join Senegal, Guinea and Ivory Coast who are all partnering with the Paris betting company.

Just the Cameroon National teams and Elite One and two teams will benefit from this deal alleged to be about 1.5 billion.

This move comes after the private engagement of the country’s football federation president, Samuel Eto’o as brand ambassador for the company has been welcomed with mixed feelings and unacceptable to some.

As a reminder, top tier side and current Cameroon cup finalists, PWD of Bamenda have 1xbet as one of the clubs sponsors until the end of the year.

Unarguably, a majority of football lovers in the country are already involved in betting, though it comes with a lot of illegal and dishonest acts.

However, it is clear the partnership promises to be beneficial to both parties, not only contributing to the development of football in the country, but branding the image of 1Xbet, who uses influential sports men and institution to shine brighter.
