23-year-old potential indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon defender Fukuin Odette Chahkes of Authentic Ladies FC of Douala has been included in the 2022/23 Guinness Super League team of the season alongside four FC Ebolowa players.
The best XI assembled from five of the current Guinness Super League championship sides was made thanks to a panel of experts appointed by the Cameroon football federation plus public opinion.
Captain Brigitte Omboudou plus defenders Estelle Yanga, Nguiadem Annnecy and goalkeeper Onomo Etaba were all named in the team of the season on Saturday evening in the heart of the performance celebration ceremony that had the first lady, Madam Chantal Biya in attendance.
The four FC Ebolowa players and their club coach Oudou Kpoumie Mvou who was named coach of the season had Lekie trio Ndjock Pouhe, Tabe Brenda and Ngah Manga Divine Marie for company alongside goal scoring midfielder Naomie Eto of FAP, Odette Chahkes of Authentic Ladies and forward Eliane Bibout.
FC Ebolowa’s quota of two defenders, the goalkeeper and the coach of the season is explained by the fact that the team had the best backline in the women’s top-flight championship last term.
This season is the third season running that Tabe has made it into the team of the season. The likes of Eliane Bibout, Omboudou are not strangers to such distinctions while Eto has progressed from the revelation player of two seasons ago.
Ngah who also won the player of the season and scored 19 goals to claim the golden boot as well was the most outstanding in the crack squad.
